As a child, I would lie in bed with the radio and listen to all the different stations and music I could pick up. I love music, all kinds of music, but I have a special love for traditional Irish. Many years ago, I heard some acquaintances playing traditional Irish tunes at a gathering and was hooked. The melodies were what I’d been hearing in my head for years and I never get enough of it.
I attend the Irish session in Knoxville on a regular basis and am on the board of Traditional Irish Arts of Knoxville. I was also the singer in an Irish group called Finnegan’s aWake for 8 years. It is my honor to be able to host a show on WDVX and share this music with listeners across the world.
On Across The Ocean, one can expect to hear a mixture of traditional tunes and songs from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, England and other places with a Celtic influence. The performers are young and old, past and present and strongly traditional to cross-over contemporary. There is a great deal of wonderful Celtic and Celtic influenced music out there and I want to share it all with the WDVX audience.
Across The Ocean airs on Sunday Evenings from 11pm -12am EST.
