Wanted to let you know you'd be receiving this wall hanging in the mail soon. My husband, Tom, and I came down for the K-town Sound concert last summer and are faithful listeners via the internet. I was looking over the premiums offered during this spring's fundraiser and was inspired to make you a wall hanging in fabric. I usually quilt traditional patterns and full size quilts - so this was new for me! We hope to get to travel your way again sometime soon. Keep up the great sounds.

Brazil

Hello WDVX,
Every time that I travel down to Knoxville I always turn the radio to WDVX, my Great Uncle Richard Hall introduced my dad to WDVX (pictured in your world photos) which as well tuned me in as well, this is my favorite radio station!

This summer I traveled with some fellow percussionists to a two-week trek of Brazil studying the music and culture. One of our stops was at the famous Corcovado in Rio De Janiero, Brazil. The Brazilian ''Rocky Top'' is a large Jesus on top on a mountain
overlooking the mountains, city,
and the sea.

Keep Playing that Great Music!!!
Ian Meiman

MichiganI'm from the northern Lower Peninsula of Michigan and have been listening to WDVX for about a year. I recently backpacked Isle Royale National Park in the middle of Lake Superior. I met a boy scout group from Knoxville hiking there and mentioned my favorite radio station is there. Their answer: ''WDVX, right?''

So last night wife and I went to the good ole cracker barrel for supper. I dressed up in one of my WDVX shirts. We had been seated for about 5 minutes when a gentleman excused himself and said he noticed my WDVX shirt and that he was a DVX fan also...how utterly cool!! The guy was from Albuquerque also and we spoke for a few minutes mostly about how much we liked and enjoyed WDVX. This shows why everybody should have a WDVX T-shirt...you can meet perfect strangers and have fun. Unfortunatly, the guy didn't tell me his name but he'll know who he is.... as Freddy would say, who'd a' thunk it, way out here in the desert, two DVX fans meet and share a smile and talk about how lucky they are to be able to listen to the best station going !!!

Hope all is well in the sweet sunny south. I use to go to school in Knoxville and I was always a big fan of the show and still am . I work for a Forest Service research station in Juneau, Alaska. I graduated last year and have been up here since. Now it is time of year where field work is coming to a halt and I will be in the office on the computer listening to your shows and entering data. WDVX's Blue Plate Special is actually my breakfeast special seeing it starts at 8 am here, but what a way to start a day! Here is a pic of me wearing My Grass is Blue WDVX shirt on Mt. Rapinski, AK.

Take care, Sean

Jeffco in France

Hello, I'm Jeffco from France, and as says Ruby Kay Cadillac, I'm the only French hillbilly she knows! Anyway, I reckon I'm not as much hillbilly as your dancing outlaw Jessco. You guys are really great there, and we're lucky here to listen to you.

Here's a picture of me picking the steel guitar with my band Cactus Pickers. We always play WDVX on our PA system before the show and during the breaks. It always fits! Turn it up! Jeffco

Mel in Jackson Hole, Wyoming

Dear WDVX,

We just wanted to be a part of the WDVX listener exchange... We grew up in north east Tennessee and recently moved away from Knoxville to Jackson, WY. We can not say enough about WDVX... WDVX represents more than just good music; WDVX has been the soundtrack of our life for the past 5 years.

We really believe that WDVX plays a greater part in preserving the musical tradition of Southern Appalachia and connects people to a place and maybe a time long gone. Listening to WDVX makes us wonder why we ever left East Tennessee. We plan to return someday, but until then we will proudly spread the word of WDVX.

The pictures were taken in Grand Teton National Park, where we work. It's a beautiful place, but doesn't compare to the Smokies!

Take good care,
Travis and Melissa
