Tennessee Shines is a weekly radio show celebrating East Tennessee’s rich musical and broadcasting heritage with musical guests, engaging hosts, East Tennessee authors and poets, and a love of surprises. WDVX produces the show every Monday from 7-8:30 p.m. in front of a live audience (room capacity 80-100) at the Knoxville Visitor Center. The first hour is broadcast live on WDVX FM and WDVX.com; the following half-hour is performed off the air just for our studio audience. Tickets are $10, free for students with ID and children 14 and under.
Much like the WDVX Blue Plate Special, Tennessee Shines books artists with experience and appeal to our audience. We’ve had solo singer-songwriters, rock bands, folk trios, Americana chart-toppers and then some. Many of our performers use Tennessee Shines as an opportunity to promote their new record to our in-studio and listening audience.
