Dedicated to playing good music regardless of the genre and providing a good time regardless of the circumstances, the ''All Over the Road'' program was founded by Mike Flannagan, a writer for the Knoxville News Sentinel, in the early years of WDVX. The program originally aired on Sunday nights and was moved to the midnight to 4 a.m. slot on Sunday mornings in the late 1990s. When Mike died (as the result of longterm heart problems) in June, 2003, his friends Wayne Bledsoe and Mary Lou Cameron were invited to carry on the program. Wayne had been an occasional guest on the show and Mary Lou had gotten her start in radio at Mike's invitation. Mary Lou later took over an expanded version of ''The Fringe'' (heard earlier on Saturday nights) with Wayne as the primary host with Melissa filling in one show per month. Mike and the program were immortalized in the title cut of the
album ''All Over the Road'' by California's Mars Arizona.
Wayne will be hosting it on June 19, guest comedian April Macie, upcoming artists (dates not scheduled yet) will include Jordan Hull, Tori Sparks and legendary songwriter Jimmy Webb.
